COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

As much as we love skating, training, and competing, Hammer City Roller Derby also loves to be involved and give back to the Hamilton community! 

Here’s just a few ways our league supports local initiatives:

Annual volunteer with the Sexual Assault Centre Hamilton Area (SACHA) at Chocolate Fest & Take Back The Night

Campaign partner with Regional Cancer Program to encourage cervical cancer screening

Contribute portions of cash proceeds to organizations including SACHA, Boys & Girls Clubs of Hamilton, and F.A.B.

Participation in local parades and community events (e.g. Pride Hamilton, Cactus Festival, Santa Claus Parade, Supercrawl, Art Crawl, )

Volunteer development opportunities for community members at HCRD events

Group blood donations with Canadian Blood Services

Donations of raffle prizes and silent auction items to various community fundraisers
